The fear of public speaking is one thing that you can trace. Fear is caused by many different things and your fear of public speaking must be identified. Why is it so important to identify the cause of your fear of public speaking? If you can identify the root cause of something then there is a very big chance that you will eliminate it. If a hose is constantly pouring out water in a garden, what is the best way to stop it? Are you going to cover the hose with your hand or are you going to look for the tap and turn it off? The fear of public speaking is like this. If you want to eradicate it once and for all, one of the best things to do is look for the cause of the fear and address it as soon as you can.
Think about the many activities and events that you have experienced in the past. What are the things that caused you fear? When you were a child, what were the things that scared you? Were you scared of monsters hiding under your bed or monsters hiding in your closet? Were you afraid to jump into the swimming pool and drown? What were you afraid of? A lot of your fears were developed in your early childhood years. One of the things that may have caused your fear of public speaking as a child were being scolded by your parents. This incident triggers your fear of making mistakes. When you go up the podium to deliver a public speech, you can make a mistake and you can also be afraid to commit one. You have to understand that mistakes are normal and you should allow yourself to make them. You’re only human after all.

Humiliation and rejection are things that can haunt you for life. You may have never gotten over them until now. You should get over them and move on. It is normal to be humiliated. If you are afraid of humiliation in public speaking then you should get rid of it. Just step up there and do your best. That is all that matters.
Your past can haunt you but it shouldn’t destroy your future. You need to be good at public speaking in many professions. You may be a doctor, lawyer, or businessman. The fear of public speaking must be eliminated once and for all. You should be able to excel in life and the fear of public speaking should not hamper your success anymore.
